One-Page Child Profile Template
From Hulya Mehmet – Making them impossible to misunderstand
Quick Story First
A mum handed me 47 pages about her son. Beautiful. Detailed. Nobody read it.
So we made one page. Just one. The teacher laminated it. Stuck it inside her planner. Referred to it daily.
That’s what this is. Everything they need to know. Nothing they don’t.

How to Make This Work
For You (The Parent)
Fill it out when:
- Kids are in bed
- You’re calm(ish)
- With wine/tea/chocolate
Make it real:
- Use YOUR words
- Include the hard bits
- Add what actually helps
- Skip what sounds good but doesn’t work
Then:
- Print 10 copies
- Email to everyone
- Take to every appointment
- Update when things change
- Hand it over saying: “This explains everything”
For Them (The Professionals)
What one teacher did:
- Laminated it
- Inside her planner
- Checked before transitions
- Shared with dinner ladies
- Actually helped
What they should do:
- READ IT (revolutionary)
- Share with supply teachers
- Refer to it in meetings
- Ask parents to update termly
- Actually follow it
The Magic of One Page
A dad told me: “First time ever, new teacher knew my son hates hand dryers. Took him different route to hall. No meltdown. One page did that.”
That’s the power. Not essays. Just truth on one page.
Make yours. Update it. Hand it to everyone.
Watch things change.
